Trust & safety

Clear signals. Thoughtful decisions.

BorrowHive provides identity and location signals when available, limits public location details, and gives members a way to report concerns. These signals add context, but they are not guarantees.

Identity

Verified person

A Verified person badge means the member completed an identity check using a government ID and selfie. Identity documents and selfies are not displayed on public profiles. Verification is not a background check, endorsement, or guarantee.

Privacy

Locations stay limited

Public listings show a general pickup area, not an exact address. Exact pickup details are shared only after an owner approves a request. A Verified location signal means supported evidence was reviewed; it does not guarantee an address.

Equipment

Tools are member-listed

Owners provide listing and condition details. BorrowHive does not inspect, test, or certify tools. Members should confirm condition, fit, and safe operation before use.

Help

Report a concern

Use Report listing in the app or email support@borrowhive.com. Reports are reviewed privately, and BorrowHive may ask for more context before taking action under its policies.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Good to know

BorrowHive FAQ

How do I know what borrowing terms apply?

BorrowHive shows the important details before you confirm a request. The price and any applicable taxes, deposit, or promotional terms vary by listing and location.

Who is BorrowHive for?

BorrowHive is for people who need a tool and people with useful equipment to share. Residents of neighborhoods and HOA communities use the same member accounts to list tools, send requests, and coordinate directly with one another.

What kinds of tools can I find?

Inventory varies by community and can include power tools, ladders, yard equipment, cleaning gear, moving equipment, shop tools, trailers, and project kits.

Can I join BorrowHive anywhere in the United States?

Yes. BorrowHive is available to members across the United States. What you can borrow depends on the inventory shared in and around your community.

Does verification guarantee that another member is safe?

No. A Verified person badge means the member completed a government ID and selfie/liveness check. It is not a background check or endorsement. Verification is one trust signal, not a safety guarantee.

Does BorrowHive inspect or certify listed tools?

No. Tool descriptions and condition details come from members. BorrowHive does not inspect, test, maintain, or certify listed equipment. Confirm condition and safe operation at the handoff before using a tool.

When are exact pickup details shared?

Public discovery uses a pickup area rather than an exact address. Exact pickup details are shared after an owner approves a request so members can coordinate the handoff.

How do I report a listing or request help?

Use Report listing in the app or email support@borrowhive.com. Reports are private and may be reviewed with relevant account, listing, message, or request context under BorrowHive’s policies. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
